All About Omaha Board of Directors
Anna Detrich, President
Anna is a small-town Kansas native, but has slowly developed quite an affinity for the Huskers. After spending a year living in Klaipeda, Lithuania, Anna moved to Omaha in August 2005, and it feels like home a little more every day. Anna works for Sage Hospitality Resources as Marketing Manager for CoCo Key Water Resort, where every day is a bright and sunny 84 degrees. She has a deep appreciation for wide-open skies and spectacular thunderstorms, proper spelling and grammar and, of course, Omaha.
Ben Spatz, Executive Vice President
Ben is a sales representative for Siemens Healthcare, a company that makes blood testing equipment for hospital laboratories. He relocated to Omaha in 2005 to accept the position. Prior to coming here, he lived in the Chicago area for 7 years, attending Northwestern University (Go Wildcats!), and working at several healthcare companies in the area. Sports allegiances are from still further back - growing up in the NYC metro area, he roots for the Yankees and New York Rangers... In his free time, Ben enjoys staying active - golfing, cycling, running, and just getting out to explore Omaha.
Jon Ripp, Treasurer
Jon is a native of Omaha and is excited to serve his third term on the All About Omaha Board. He feels that Omaha has a lot to offer young professionals and is trilled to be part of an organization that will help spread that message. Jon attended Central High School in Omaha, received his bachelor's degree in finance and banking from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and his MBA from Creighton University. Jon is a Vice President with First National Capital Markets, a subsidiary of First National Nebraska. In his spare time he enjoys watching and participating in sports, camping and hanging out at the lake, and spending time with his wife, 4 year old daughter and 1 year old son.
Jessica Magilton, Secretary
Jessica was raised in Omaha and is currently a Clinical Dietitian at Bergan Mercy Medical Center. After studying in Spain and living in Connecticut for three years, she decided it was time to return to the Big O. She enjoys exploring Omaha's cultural scene and spending Saturdays at the zoo with her son.
Danna Kehm, VP Membership
Danna grew up in the Omaha area and loves to call it home. She is the VNA HomMed Coordinator for the Visiting Nurse Association where she oversees a home medical technology program. Danna is a graduate of University of Iowa, earning her BA in Marketing and Management. She also received her MBA from Bellevue University, with an emphasis in Finance. During her free time Danna enjoys going to concerts, sporting events, and spending time with friends down in the Old Market. This is Danna's first year on the board and she is excited about the opportunity to take a more active role in the community, and be a part of a progressive organization to help keep young professionals in Omaha.
Michael Howe, VP Membership: Corporate Partnerships
Michael is an Assistant Branch Manager for Mutual 1st Federal Credit Union. He moved to Nebraska in 1983 and is happy to call Omaha home. Mike was born in California and as a member of an Air Force family he lived in California and Washington previously. Mike received a BSBA in marketing from Creighton University. After graduation, Mike pursued some entrepreneurial opportunities but has been focusing on the financial sector in recent years. Mike is a current member of YPC, the Young Professional Council. This is Mike's first year on the board and he is looking forward to the upcoming year with All About Omaha. Mike is eager to share his interest in, and knowledge of Omaha with local young professionals. Michael's interests include the any outdoor activity, golfing, music, and sports.
Adam Bender, VP Membership: Corporate Partnerships
Adam is a native of Omaha, NE and is serving his second term on the All About Omaha board. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Nebraska at Omaha with bachelors degrees in Corporate Financial Management, Commercial Bank Management, and Portfolio Management and Investment Science. He is an active member of the AAO and the Omaha Chamber of Commerce and is employed as the Director of Operations for Business Development at Alegent Health. In his free time, Adam mentors students in the investment program at UNO, and enjoys spending time outdoors, flying model aircraft, riding his motorcycle, traveling, and scuba diving. Adam is looking forward to developing strong partnerships between local businesses and AAO and helping Omaha's young professionals become more successful business and community leaders.
Kristin Buscher, VP Marketing
Kristin was born and raised in Omaha, NE. She graduated from Colorado State University, where she studied journalism and history. In 2003, she moved back to Omaha, NE. She worked in a couple different industries, until she discovered her passion for higher education. She has been working in college admissions for nearly three years, first starting at University of Phoenix, Omaha Campus. She currently works as a non-traditional, transfer, and graduate admissions counselor at College of Saint Mary, where she has had experience in marketing and public relations. She recently graduated from University of Phoenix with her Master of Business Administration. Since finishing her graduate program, she is now ready for a new challenge, and was presented with the opportunity to be a board member for All About Omaha. She enjoys spending time with her husband of two years, and their two dogs, Sally and Bailey. She loves to travel, meet new people, sing, dance, and just have a good time.
Karissa Armstrong, VP Marketing
After graduating from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, Karissa began her career in advertising and marketing in San Diego, Ca with Euro RSCG. She then decided to spread her wings and took a job with NYCA as a Sr. Media Planner/Buyer where clients included TaylorMade-adidas Golf Worldwide, Maxfli Golf, San Diego Convention & Visitors Bureau, The San Diego Union-Tribune, SignOnSanDiego.com, Kyocera Wireless, Duramed FUTURES Tour and others. NYCA's office is located right on the beaches of Encinitas, California. Not a bad gig! Upon returning to the great state of Nebraska in 2007, Karissa took a position with Bozell where she works as a Media Manager. Karissa is looking forward to growing the AAO organization and cheering on the Huskers this year!
Erin Stoll, VP Community Involvement
Erin is really excited and honored to be a member of the AAO board this year! Growing up in Omaha, Erin attended Bellevue West High School and then Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln, where she majored in Communication and Theatre. After graduation she decided to leave Omaha and moved to Chicago. As exciting as Chicago was, it just wasn't home, so two years (and many Cubs games later!), Erin returned to Omaha to be closer to friends and family. Currently, she is the Director of Development at Together, Inc., a Multi-Faith Emergency Relief Agency. In her spare time she enjoys baking, reading, shopping, running and going to Pub Quiz every Tuesday night at Slowdown with her husband Jeremy (some day they will actually win!). Erin also enjoys acting and has performed in several local productions with the Living Picture Project and the Omaha Community Playhouse.
Stacey M. Demitros, VP Leadership
Stacey is thrilled to be serving her third term on the All About Omaha Board. Born in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, Stacey eventually found her way to the Omaha area in 1985 and except for college and a summer in San Francisco, has been here ever since. She is currently a Talent Acquisition Supervisor with West Asset Management, a division of West Corporation, where she supervises at team of sourcing specialists in the development of programs and marketing to attract talented new associates for fourteen offices nationwide. Stacey is also a recent newlywed! She and her husband Jeff take every opportunity to spend time with family and friends, enjoy outdoor activities, live concerts and explore new locally-owned dining/drinking establishments in Omaha. Even though Stacey has been branded with having a greater than normal appreciation for the Bee Gee's, she is an enthusiast for all kinds of music including world music, rockabilly and jazz. Serving as VP of Leadership in 2008-2009, Stacey is excited to focus her attention on uncovering and creating leadership and professional development opportunities for area young professionals.
Jason Bosquet, VP Leadership
Jason is a financial advisor with Waddell & Reed Financial Services. Jason is a graduate of the University of Nebraska Lincoln where he received his B.S. degree in International Studies. After graduation he honorably served eleven years in the Air Force as an intelligence officer in various locations such as Hampton Roads, VA; Vandenberg AFB, CA; and San Angelo, TX. As an Air Force reservist, Jason is assigned to United States Strategic Command, Offutt AFB, NE. Jason and his lovely bride, Angela, have four energetic children and are expecting a fifth. He serves as the Vice President - Leadership Development for All About Omaha, as well as a member of the Nebraska Veteran Business Owner Forum and the Omaha Chamber of Commerce Advantage Group.
Jacquelyn Brisson, VP Omaha Awareness
Jacquelyn Brisson was born and raised in Omaha, studied in Germany and graduated from UNO with a Bachelors in International Business. After college she resided in Idaho and California. Upon returning to the great state of Nebraska, Jacquelyn took a position with the Visiting Nurse Association where she works as a Business Development Manager. Jacquelyn enjoys traveling, inconsistent exercise, and spending time with her husband and... don't forget those MAV's, going to UNO hockey games.
Aaron Onken, VP Omaha Awareness
Aaron grew up just outside the (extremely) small town known as Glenvil, NE. He graduated from high school at Sandy Creek, and then moved to nearby Hastings, where he attended Hastings College, first pursuing a degree in Physics, but later giving into his other interests and completing his degree in Communication Studies. After completing his degree, he moved to Omaha, where he accepted a position with Applied Underwriters, a Berkshire Hathaway insurance company, in their Legal Division as a Lien Settlement Specialist. He now does litigation management as their Lien Litigation Coordinator. Despite the fact that Omaha is the largest city that he has lived in by far, he is surprised by how quickly Omaha began to feel like a small town, even with its more "big city" aspects. He takes a great deal of pride in this city that he now calls home, and he's excited to bring that pride to other young professionals, as well.
Michelle Adams, VP Charitable Events
Michelle is a Sr. Account Executive with Bozell where she manages marketing communications programs for First National Bank. She received a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. After graduation she moved to Charlotte, NC where she worked for a variety of sports marketing agencies, including Velocity Sports & Entertainment and GMR. Michelle currently lives in Omaha and serves as the Vice President - Charitable Social Events for All About Omaha.
Carissa LeBron, VP Charitable Events
Carissa is an Omaha native and strayed for only a short time to experience the untamed and animated lifestyle Los Angeles had to offer. Two years, four jobs and one drained pocketbook later, she returned home to Omaha to rejoin her family of two lovely parents and three younger sisters. Carissa formally served as Finance Director for Mercedes-Benz of Omaha, Business Development Manager and Internet Director for Gorges Volvo (where she fell head-over-heels in love with the Volvo product and safe, green and innovative approach), and is now currently employed at MSI Systems Integrators. She ecstatic to be on All About Omaha's Board this year and is anxious to boost Omaha awareness and make a positive impact on our community. In her spare time, Carissa enjoys jam sessions with her band (or any music enthusiast willing to "rock out"), traveling, eating out, and most of all - spending time with her beautiful and energetic three year old daughter, Ava Rae.
Angela Rock, Past President / Advisor
Angela was born and raised in Omaha, NE and thinks our big city is headed for great things. She loves to share her enthusiasm with others and encourage them to get involved. Angela sells investments to commercial and corporate customers First National Capital Markets, a full-service broker dealer of First National of Nebraska. Angela loves to spend time with her husband & baby dog Cooper. When not with family or friends, you'll find Angela engaged in any form of exercise. Angela belongs to the Association of Finance Professionals and also volunteers for the Foster Care Review Board.
